F80 M3 Port Meth + Hybrid Turbos
Another S55 in for a port meth install! Using direct port injection will give you even fuel distribution across all the cylinders in your engine, unlike charge pipe injection which 'can' cause some cylinders to run lean resulting in catastrophic engine failure. The Coolingmistuk Stage 2 Meth Kit provides a meth injection pump controller allowing the driver to control the fluid delivery progressively throughout a desired range of boost. This kit has also been fitted with a pressure sensor on one of the meth lines to incorporate a 'fail safe'. This is a system that puts the car in to a limp mode if the kit detects an issue with the electrical or hardware parts of the meth kit and also a low pressure scenario. Running port meth without a fail safe can put your engine at risk in the event of the meth kit having a fault.
The 3/4 series cars also have the benefit of being able to use a large 'stealth' tank hidden under the boot floor, keeping the tank/pump/lines out of sight and still giving you the full boot space.
The notorious crankhub fix was done previously on this car when it originally went to stage 2. We used the Insane Performance 4 pin crankhub which is a complete fix for the dreaded crankhub failure these S55 engines can suffer.
After that we fitted a set of AET hybrid turbos, and VRSF single midpipe. The AET turbos are a direct replacement of the stock units, although it is recommended to fit them with some larger, freer flowing, inlet and charge pipes. In this car with used the FTP turbo inlets and VRSF charge pipes.
The owner then took the car down to Velocity Tuning where it was tuned to 738hp on a 'conservative' tune.
